Ribbies Clippies were invented on a summer trip to Michigan in 2006 when sisters Kristen Creamer and Kim Marable spotted grosgrain ribbons at the local fabric store. The colors and patterns were new and modern. With two young daughters, both moms had been searching for an alternative to the frilly bow.

They wanted the hair clippies to be so versatile that they could work with any outfit, and so understated that the baby’s face would stand out more than the hair accessory. To prevent slipping in fine baby hair, they put a color-coordinated foam grip in each clip.

The clippies turned out to be so light and comfortable that their daughters could wear them all day long and not even realize they had them in. That is when they knew they had a super product.
